I just love this ignorance. We are fighting this war to send a message to politically corrupt countries, that we will not be bullied or harassed by terrorism. That is basically what this war is about.
The only ones whining or protesting are the ones who were related to, or connected to those who were killed in Iraq. I can agree we are sending a lot of improperly trained troops to Iraq for combat, I've witnessed the combat training first hand, I won't go into too much detail, but that's just my opinion based on what I've seen.
U.S. Army Infantry Training Schedule:
Week 1: Discipline and PT (physical training)
Week 2: More Discipline and even more PT, vague training on Claymore mines, jump into a gas chamber; gag and vomit on your way out of it.
Week 3: Even more discipline, and PT -wastefull drill and ceramony bullshit, and vague instruction on first aid procedures, and go through a gay obstacle coarse.
Week 4: More Drill and Ceramony, More Discipline, oohh.. learn how to clean a rifle.
Week 5: Even more PT, Spend 2 days learning how to shoot a rifle and adjust the sights on it, for no more than 10 minutes at a time, and be expected to qualify with a weapon that jams, not because you didn't properly maintenence it, but because the Army is cheap and they use 10+ year old M-16 mags.
Week 6: Get vague training instruction and drills on machine guns, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, and maybe get to fire 10 rounds off a mounted .50 caliber machine gun. Learn pointless pugil stick aka bayonet training, which died during the revolutionary war period, and learn a small amount of basic jujitsu, and do more PT, and marches!
Week 7: Piss away time by taking long road ruck marches, and eventually do a few 1 hour long training mission(which you would likely forget later on) to learn squad movements, and do even more PT.
Week 8: If you're not on crutches yet, or you havn't gone psycho yet, you're probably MOS qualified at this point. Expect to do more PT, more road marches, and more vague training operations.
Week 9: Good, you're on your way to graduation, now you can piss away more time on marching, pt, ruck marches, and some retarded injury inducing night infiltration coarse.
Week 10-14: Marching, PT, Discipline, and platoon contraban busts, and shake downs. Eventually finish off with a 15 mile road march, and take your final pt assessment test which gives you a blue cord. Or you can fail the test, and they'll graduate you anyways.
So yeah, I deffinately think our soldiers in training spend more time doing pointless bullshit like: Too much Discipline, which also = PT, Drill and Ceramony, and constant injury inducing PT excercises without being consciencious of safety, which is why most infantry training companies lose at least 15-30% of their trainees to injuries. Plus the training is rushed, and can easily be forgotten.
All you guys see is war, and you hear how the media constantly twists, and terrorizes our military goals, by calculating death tolls, and exhibiting and pimping out images of captured americans being tortured, pimping it out for a hefty sponsorship fee.
Lots of people, even military recruits really have no idea why we are fighting this war. Some people just want to go to Iraq to kill people, which is what I wanted to do. But there is a legitimate reason behind this war.
There are a lot of evil and corrupt leaders in these countries, who think they can control their people by killing them, and bullying other countries with terrorist attacks. This is what we are trying to prevent.... Corruption, manipulation, terrorism.
For those that choose to go against us....Let god sort them out.

I wasn't the one who went to PRISON. So how was it? ( In Internet Geek Terms:) I bet you liked downloading that Anal expansion pack from Bubba's high speed, 18 inch cable connection.
I am almost certain you've picked up a lot of training while you were there, you know.. like... picking up the soap when noone's around.....Making friends with large horny black men, for protection.
Define: "Fuck up" Murdock, didn't LoD's lawyers bail you out or something.. rofl.....
Weak...

Except your training doesn't end with BCT. That's just to introduce you into the military, you'll have a special school for your MOS after graduation.
You failed out of BCT and you're coming up with ideas for military policy and training now?

wow private (almost) panemon, you really lashed out. i guess you really DID want to be a soldier. do you stay up late at night crying to MASH re-runs? i dunno, instead of living off your 5% medical (aka im a lazy pussy) disability why don't you see if you can be a consultant for hollywood. band of brothers would have been 10x's better w/your ideas on training.
you know that "real" soldiers laugh at sick-bay commandos right?

During my time in the Army I observed the graduation of 3 other training companies, and there is a reason why they call it: BASIC, and I personally feel that they didn't focus on more of the crucial training elements in my company, they spent more time harassing us, and getting a power trip out of their "honorable position." Some of these drill instructors you can tell never held a real job, and they are just as immature and stupid as these 17, and 18 year olds who are fresh out of high school.
The other training companies in my Batallion, like Alpha, and Charlie, had lazy, and worthless drill sergeants who basically let their privates do their own thing during training.
Discipline is important in training, but the drill and ceramony, and relentless poking fun at the trainees even though they didn't fuck up is something that needs to be noticed.
And there are a lot of fuck ups among the ranks of our NCO's and fat worthless training commanders.
My particular company spent more time harassing us, and making our lives hell, than training us. I can't tell you how many schedules we fell behind, because we had 30 minute smoking sessions (pt) at least every hour, that we missed a lot of important training excercises and drills, because they were too busy getting a kick out of pissing us off.
Other training companies never disciplined their privates enough, they allowed them to consume contraban, they made life easy for those who probably wouldnt of been able to hack it mentally, had they been properly disciplined.
Their Drill sergeants would be on 24 hour CQ, and instructed us to wake them up, so they dont get in trouble with the commander or the company first sergeant, or even the CSM.
There is really no administration in the Army, either you join and you graduate as a fuck-up. (Like when one private left for graduation leave, and ended up with 2 sexual assault charges, and a DUI.) Or you can graduate as a soldier, or you can join the Army and get trained by a bunch of UCMJ violating assholes and end up injured. (like me) We started out in our company with 250 privates, and ended up graduating about 160 of them. Most of the others fell out due to severe injuries, and a lot went AWOL, or went on mental health profile.
After my 8 months in, observing the training, I think there is a lot of work to be done. I've personally prepared some of the training paper work for other companies, and browsed confidential military training documents, and there was a lot of shit we never did, because they were too busy getting a rise out of us.
So yes, I disagree with a lot of the training, that is focused in basic training. We had about 35 privates in our company that went on airborne hold after graduation, and only about 18 of them passed their airborne pt test, and the rest were still recovering from their initial basic training injures due to the Army's negligence behind safe training procedures.
They're supposed to strictly follow medical profiles, but in the infantry, they seldom do it, and when you're hurt they tell you to drink water, and suck it up. I sucked it up untill Ft. Benning's TMC Lead Surgeon contacted the brigade commander, and forced me into the infirmary, because I sucked it up beyond sucking it up, mostly because I didn't know my rights... I simply said... wow this sucks... Im on crutches, and I have a peice of paper that says I can't do this, this, this, and that, and these fuckers are making me do it, and if I don't do it, they are threatening me with disciplinary action.
Welcome to Basic training, that's a brief summarization of my story.
I still think the Army is cool, and have been medically discharged as a PV2. I was supposed to go in as an E-4 because of my education and certification in computer networking, but I didnt join the army for money or rank. I joined to kill people. I can come back in another MOS after 6 months.

Uhh yeah, whatevewr Dr. Murdock, that's right you're the doctor right? Fucking moron. Why don't you just be a fuckup like you already are, and go back to jail so Bubba the proctologist can give you a stress fracture on your tailbone. You're so ignorant it's actually quite funny.
Now go back to your home, because I know Bubba misses your company. He also wants to break-in your tight white ass again.
I'm sure there's more love for you there than there is here. I guess you're still trying to get that Kotex title, lol.
