I have been toying around with too many music emulators on my computer, I would like to mainstream myself in the music industry, by creating higher quality samples, and compositions, rather than orchestrating it all on a computer, filtering and debugging sounds. I've been using age-old programs like Modtracker,FL, Reason, sound forge (.wav editing) and Acid music studio.
Plus I'm working with modified line-in samples from an old YAMAHA keyboard, which are ridiculously old, and offer very little when it comes to modifying pitch, and vst effects.
I do play piano, and I am in the market for a synthesizer, but there are so many of them, and if I spend at least 5 grand or close to it, I want to be rest assured that I bought something of quality.
Basically I am looking for a synthesizer loaded with features, and I would prefer not to purchase an analog, or the old school moog-style synthesizers, I would rather go digital.
Now I've been considering buying the KORG Triton Studio 88-key synthesizer, but also have been looking at at Roland's X/V-Synth series synthesizers.
I also stumbled upon the Kurzweil K2600XS 88 key weighted keyboard which looked quite attractive. But again, I am looking for something which is upgradeable, and feature filled.
A few good composers I've talked to on-line have said some good things about the Nord keyboards.
The Alesis Andromeda synthesizer definitely looks cool, but it just has way too many knobs, and appears to be more of an analog synthesizer than a digital.
I've always been attracted to the MOOG synthesizers ever since I was a kid, and heard about them. However, they are quite bulky, and just plain ugly, and really don't seem to offer much, as far as features, without paying more money for expandable docks which add more ugliness to the system.
Perhaps someone here who knows their synthesizers could better help me sort out the quality synthesizers from the junk synthesizers.
If I get a chance in the future, I'll upload some of my nice new digital musics up here, which I've composed, produced, and mixed.
