Always good to see known guilds in other games. I don't know what happened to Sinister over the Fury Challenge, but you guys put up a good show in the Elimination ladder. So congrats on making the top 10 there.
Fury is a great concept, but I hope they can fix the performance issues so that the game can be a retail hit. That seems to be the achilles heel of the game right now.
Anyways, cya around.

What's more impressive is it was done by just 4-5 guys. Not many LoD wanted to participate in Fury because of all the technical issues.

Yeah the lag this weekend killed our top rated team so they didn't play Elim at all. We fell from #5 to 9 because of that.
One thing that bothered me about the ladder though is that if a guild's 4 top rated guys can carry the whole guild, it makes it almost pointless for anyone else to play or to have a guild larger than 4 for Elim. I hope they fix that, or add more ladders because an MMORPG based guild usually doesn't stay that small.
Either way you guys make a big jump in the ladder, and it was good to see another Old School guild pwning some of these l33t FPS and Guild Wars Clans who think they are hot shit.

who was on your top team? The only lotd we got to face was Luna, Micah and 2 others from lotd I dont remember....which we beat last night btw <img src="/~stretch/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
It really sucked for us because we were trying to make that big push to the top but none of the top teams were in elim. We beat HUKHUKHUKHUKHUKHUKHUKUHUKHUKHKUHKUS a couple times and our rating didn't increase. You would thik beating the #2 ranked guild at the time would give you a decent jump since they have a decent rating.
That ladder system was totally fucked.

Yeah I heard it was a good fight, but one guy was a pickup and the other three guys weren't from our top team. Our top team is 3 Euro members and 1 USA guy. Their rating got us to #4 initially, and then this weekend they couldn't play at all due to lag or performance issues so that dropped them all the way to 9.
We had the same problems as you guys though. We would fight and beat guilds close to us on the ladder, and get virtually no rating gain as a result. Then we'd log in the next day, and some NON-USA guilds who PVP'd during bumfuck AM would have shot up the ladder over night. This happened in Elim and Vortex.
The matchmaking needs work because there were lots of people that simply never got matched up. Apparently you had to be matched with someone pretty close to your team rating, or it would pair you against a total suck ass team.....which also didn't help rating.
Fury can be fun but their ladder needs help, and they need to fix the performance issues so more people can play the game.

1) the rating system they use is designed to be good over months and months of gaming... not 4 days of a tournament.
2) not merging servers from the get go totally fucked the contest(we never fought 4 of the top 10 teams... ever)
3) The ladder rating increased way too fast for the top guilds. The top 3 guilds in elim barely had to play the last weekend, and it actually helped them win by doing so. Only beating the top 3 guilds gave you more than like 3 rating points increase... and when your behind the top guild by 100 rating points... gg.
It was pretty hilarious for the last 4 hours of the tournament. We beat every guild we faced and went up 4 rating points. It would have worked better with a basic chess match system for the tournament. We beat every team we fought multiple times except for IcE but because we couldnt grind 24/7 we couldnt compete.
Aw well, keyboards game gold and subscriptions! yay.

I tried playing but the lag was so bad I could not do anything. I doubt its my system, its not slow by any means but after a hour of picture pages and countless tweaks trying to get it to run I gave up.

Lords of Death (LoD)
LoD and LotD were previous allied guilds and kicked a lot of ass together. At various points each guild hit a low point, and helped each other along. However while waiting for Shadowbane some fansite poll came out listing LotD as one of the top feared guilds going into the game, and apparently that recognition bruised some egos over at LoD. A massive flame war ensued, and the two guilds have hated one another since. LotD went on to play on the Scorn server which was the most hard core server of the day, and birthed the nation that took down the most infamous nation in Shadowbane history (Rolling 30's). LoD went to the Death server and beat up n00b guilds, and no one gave a shit who was the last guild standing before that server went offline.

Some might analyze our guilds differently however. Some might say that LotD started with R30's... zerging the entire shard from the get go. The only battle plan being join the largest guild alliance on ANY shard and ride their coattails to fame. And then when R30's were exposed as hackers dupers, they jumped ship and formed another mega zerg to take out r30's with sheer numbers.
Some might also say that LoD fought 12 different guilds on Death at the same time... the entire organized server... and won. Lok'ri, Salvation, Free Corps, Nurfed, G_D, Mithril Warhammers, FTW, Silent Tribe, House of Mercs, Warrior Nation, and who can forget Corvus(or at least that one guy from it).
So i guess its all perspective... but since i read that little thing on your website, i thought we should explain how we look at it. Cya in the next game.

Ok, I gotta put my 2 cents in here. Hades you guys left R30's after it had peaked and was on its way down. It appeared from the R30's side that you abandoned us when we needed you. Beyond that, you didn't bring an end to R30's Baka and Bone brought an end to R30's, you guys just happened to be in the nation we were at war with when they ran the nation into the ground. I went to the death server after that, and joined in with Nurfed and we zerged the ever loving god out of LoD. The reason why I disbanded Legion and joined LoDwas because of the huge ammount of respect I gained for them watching them deal with 4-1 numbers get zerged and they kept coming back 24 hours a day. The guilds that Obs listed save Nurfed G_D FTW WN and my guild (not mentioned, thanks obs you dick) may have been newbs, but I faught LoD in conflicts were we had over 130 people and they had 20-30 and they held there own and at times won. Scorn wasn't the most hard core server btw, you just think so because thats the one you played on. I kept playing for about 2-3 years, and there were several servers that were more involved in PvP than scorn. Scorn was just the server with the most glitchers/hackers/dupers, that doesn't make it hard core. I played with lotd a lot and you guys are good people, but dont try to down play LoD's legacy in pvp games to make you guys look better.

Warrior Nation were punks. My ragtag crew pushed them off Chaos to Death even with their dupes. I wouldn't list them as any great threat anywhere.
