I agree with who ever it was that said this looks like another Apocalypto (which was actually a great movie), but because of my obsession with combat before gun powder, i'll end up watching it.

Apocolypto was done very much within the confines of archaeological/anthropological evidence. This movie is little more than a Sci/Fi action movie. First off, Mammoths were almost exctinct by the time this movie takes place and those still living were predominantly in Northern America. This movie shows Sabertooth cats which also were almost extinct and those still living were also predominantly in the Americas. They also show use of metal weapons which were non-existent until around 4 to 5k BC and that is arguable. The first civilizations we have archaeological evidence for, such as Uruk, were dated only to about 5 to 6k BC. I'm sure 10,000 B.C. will be comparable on a general level to Apocolypto, but they're in no way comparable from a historical standpoint.

I don't recall exactly what the weapons looked like from the trailer, but what do you mean by metal? Because copper was a resource they used to carve very very ancient weapons.
