I don't understand how there going to attract tourists.
Airfare from usa is very expensive compared to say traveling to mexico or even europe. Also the fact that it has a muslim stigma will keep out any of the wealthy jews and hardcore christians. Imo most americans will not think about traveling there despite the pictures they see.

Pherhaps there trying to appeal to all of Asia and european people? Well the harsh drug laws will keep all the crazy euros away and most of asia is to poor to travel.
This place is a bust imo

Don't go Trance!

A resident of Dubai didn't have any drugs on him, but when he was arrested for an unrelated charge they did a blood test which came up positive for Marijuana. He was sentenced to 10-15 years.

A UK DJ went over there and had 2 grams of bud on him. He got busted and the judge sentenced him to the minimum of 4 years. Didn't even deport his ass!!

.....

However, it is suppose to be the best night life in the world. There is alcohol allowed in 4-5 star hotels and night clubs. Lots of hot asian chicks which I believe is the majority of the populations expatriates.

I read a bunch a long time ago about the place in an article that was describing one of their buildings which rotates and captures wind to power itself!! DUBAI IS NUTS.

Oh, here it is too. Each floor could rotate individually from each other. It powers itself, is green, and looks amazing.

Dubai is setting itself up to be the jewel of Middle East trade. You're seeing many global corporations base themselves out of Dubai, such as Haliburton.

Does this really matter though? Most Corporations choose their hq location based on whatever country has political stability and minimal tax laws. Plus with product import prices varying from country to country and government tax laws always changing, it doesn't matter where your shit is stationed.

And Halliburton makes most their income from constructing shit in the middle east so it would make sense for them to build a base in the safest spot close to their market.

I highly doubt you'll see coke honda or mcfattys spending huge capital on buildings in Dubai unless they have some goal of middle eastern expansion which I don't think is there main focus since china and india seem to be more appealing consumer and government wise.

im majorin in business so I learned all about this.

yes it matters, they are building the largest airport in the world, but designed mostly for shipping, such as FedEx out of Memphis. Dubai could take over as a HUGE trade power.\Al Maktoum International Airport, planned as the world's largest passenger and cargo hub, ten times larger than Dubai International Airport and Dubai Cargo Village combined.

If completed as planned, the airport will have an annual cargo capacity of 12 million tons, more than three times that of Memphis International Airport, today's largest cargo hub, and a passenger capacity of more than 120 million - almost 30% more than Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, currently the world's busiest passenger airport.

Looks alot like the ATL airport except with 6 RUNWAYS!!!!

Over the years, the harder you try to sound intelligent, the more idiotic you seem.
