Wow I'll admit im a retard for actually playing that thing. There goes 40 days of work with 15+ GM skills across characters and close to 1 mil in the bank.
I should have known better and trusted my instincts when i first joined the server. One thing I first noticed was how the shards webpage alone looks like it was slapped together by a monkey in 2 minutes. If these guys can't make a descent webpage(like all the other more stable UO shards), how the fuck can they possibly run and maintain a scripted server? They couldn't, or at least can't anymore. The only 2 guys that were able to somewhat script the server(or shall I say modify the code) were Az and Rixus, who are now both gone.
The problem at hand was fixable, yet it took some scripting knowledge/time, which I guess none of them had, so they took the easy way out by wiping the whole goddamn thing. People were spoofing IPs in the UO client? Big deal, then write a secure script to change passwords through web browser. I could have scripted that up in 1 day tops.
The only way the server succeeded was by the WTFman name alone, because when you looked at the staff, it was run by a bunch of 12 year old apes. A browse through Azaroth's character names in the shards files for example yielded something along the lines of "A faggoty faggot ass bitch".
Do you really want to play a shard with immature admins who get their jollies off of 3rd grade humor? I know I don't.
I think anyone who keeps playing is just digging themselves a grave, as theres only 2 clueless guys running it now and I'm sure they won't see any donations for quite some time due to what's happend. By doing this they've not only proved that they'd go to the extreme of wiping the entire shard upon encountering another big problem, but also that they don't give a fuck about their players. So I wouldn't be suprised if the server gets wiped or goes down permanently within a month or two.
Have fun for those of you playing <img src="/~stretch/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
Meanwhile, I'm about ready to snap all my UO CDs in half to ensure this never happens to me again.
