I agree with ya that what those tools did was way over the line, and I was amazed that their religious leaders said that it was immoral. I think the only way to get those people to calm down is to drop a MOAB in a field on the outskirts of town, and then tell them that the next one is on their head if they don't stop it.
I think the best solution is to publicly state that they should cooperate, 100%, let us fix their shit (we're committed to doing it anyway at this point), leave, and then they can kill each other in a lovely civil war. The sooner they cooperate, the sooner we can leave, and the sooner they can bum rush one anothers dung hovels and wack each other in the name of their peacefull religion.
The only problem is that "pop the american" is almost becoming a sport there, and this whole episode may embolden them. There's 33 million of them, and we have 140k (approx) troops. If they picked up simply cutlery and rushed, we'ld run out of bullets before we could stop em.
