LoL the US trained the Taliban once upon a time. There was a scurmish, Afghanistan and Russia. We supported Afghanistan and gave them some SAM's (Surface to Air missles) and some equipment and trained there men. I dont know a lot on this, just some background in history. I am too lazy to look it up but thats the jiz of it. Can anyone add more info?

Watching the news today, I almost think the war in Iraq really can't be solved by us. The People of Iraq have been ran by extremists and tribes since its birth. How could they begin to want to fight for something they dont understand (Democracy)(Freedom)? Its beginning to look bad in Iraq, im beginning to think the majority in Iraq dont want freedom. They just want to be ran.......
If they ever took a breathe of air in America, I gaurantee they would die for freedom. =-)

I dont think the "American election cycle" has anything to do with Iraqi's not embracing democracy. I think they just truly dont understand the concept of it.

Flee Honestly I think you may be right. I dont think the Iraqis will grasp democracy. I think if we left slowly it may not help the countries situation, maybe even worsen it. I just cant see our troops dying anymore for something the Iraqi people dont want. Originally it looked as though the majority in Iraq wanted us there and wanted us to help them. Now it doesnt seem so popular, maybe ive been swayed by the media? I dont know =-)
