Well there was one Democrat. Id refer you to Cuban missle crisis in the early 60s. Kennedy backed the Soviets down with a naval blockade of Cuba, otherwise we would have been staring down a few dozen silos every time we did a fly by. Other than that, I tend to agree with you. This isnt the time to pull out, otherwise we've wasted our efforts. The mission is NOT accomplished yet.
You guys might want to stop and consider the fact that it isnt just Iraquis we're dealing with over there. We're also dealing with every extremist that has an axe to grind (or think he does) with the US. The borders are wide open so right now its a free-for-all. You're seeing Iranian influences trying to take hold, Yemenis, Saudis, Syrians, etc all coming to take a shot at us. Top that off with the fact that these uneducated cant think for themselves robots are being controlled by their religious leaders who, if they are against us, will encourage their flock to off themselves in the name of their diety. Its a nasty situation. However to run now would be a big mistake and I tend to agree with Faust that if we did, well, all those soldiers and civilians we lost so far would be in vain. We need to stay long enough to ensure that the country will be run by some form of democracy instead of another religious zealot or a dictator waiting in the wings. If that happens, we're either right back where we started..or worse off than before.
