Actually, the US has a massive army that has gone in and attacked a country that was already weakened 10 years earlier by the coalition forces. There was not much of an army left to fight this time. As for any other country China would and Russia could fight the US.
There was an article done by CSIS that stated the US cannot fight ANY prolonged war due to the fact its millitary uses so much high tech weaponary the cost in a matter of a few years would bankrupt the goverment. Now I am not sure of exact costs but lets guess :
Blackhawk Helicoptor 20 Mil
Cruise Missle 1 mil
Jet Plane 45 Mil
Now also factor in the cost to feed a large army and the Billions of dollars a REAL long term war would cost. No the USA is the super power because it has 1ooo's ballistic missles that can hti anywhere in the world and Subs and Airplans that can carry these loads as well.
