Youre right. It isnt any different. He is a face and a name representing GREAT Americans. Regaurdless of what this war is about, he wanted revenge for 911, thats why he went. He gave up money which nobody in todays age will do to go fight a war. He is a great example and a face to be recognized as a great football player, great soldier, and a great American. Most people are thinking about this hero thing the wrong way. He wasnt a "war" hero. He is an american hero. This incident and the cirucumstances involved (things he gave up) to fight for what he beleived in (killing mother fuckers for 9/11) should send a chill down your spine. If it doesnt your not seeing what his story is about. You think Barry nigger bonds would go to war? I dont think so. Neither would Payton Manning or anyone for that matter.
