Isn't that why Hans Blix and the UN inspectors were inside Iraq for that time to check for weapons. And I know that you could not 100% for sure prove that they had them but Iraq could barely shoot scud missles into Isreal let alone strike the US. As for sneaking in nuke well 100's of countrys and groups not countrys can buy them and sneak them inside the USA.
And as for evil leaders, well there are 100 more all around the world, whos next ?
What a joke, the inspectors were told where they could and couldn't search. That is one of the reasons we thought he had WMDs. Obviously we cant cover EVERY base, but we sure as hell can try. We have limited resources and as such we have to choose our battles. We choose Iraq now. Next? Maybe north Korea, maybe Pakistan? I can't see the future, but I can promise you that whoever gets it, will deserve it just like Saddam did.
So now with this move any nation can without any REAL proof invade and force their will on others IE China on Taiwain and claim well hindsight is 20/20 but now that we are there its our way or no way.
There were MANDATES by the UN forcing Iraq to allow inspections, and they were breaking them. I'm pretty sure Canadian courts use the concepts of "Probable Cause" and "Reasonable Doubt". Like I said, all the signs pointed to yes, and we had probable cause to check it out. You are really pushing it trying to compare to China/Tawian.
And your going to give it to them all regardless, and in the meantime kill 1000's of them And just to ask you, don't you think the US Admin would have forseen this happening ? Freedom isn't easy Muj. Thousands of americans died for our freedom, and I'd say it was worth it. We wouldn't be able to be arguing this right now if it wasn't for sacrifice of our forfathers.
I sir watch the BBC , CNN , ABC , CBC and more. And yes I admit unlike most that I do swing to the left and take what I want from the news. But so do you, and no one is right or wrong in this forum ... but all you need to do is think this is like another modern crusade. Forcing Xian vaules and beleifs which is what Canada and the US were and are mostly founded on to a people mostly Muslim with different vaules who might not want your world of McDonalds and Corporations and dictated mostlyby the US economic machine. Maybe they don't want starbucks.
What in the world does starbucks have to do with anything. We are trying to set up a means for the PEOPLE of Iraq to CHOOSE if they wan't a starbucks or not. Rather than letting some dictator choose for them.
