Most of your ideas are all circumstantial. Let's look at the past and present. If we left the Middle East i'm sure their hefty supply of oil could afford them enough money to start their country back up again, assuming they have an established government. North Korea wouldn't invade South Korea, and the Middle East wouldn't touch Israel. Has there ever been an actual military attempt to take over Israel by the Arabs, besides the war with Israel and i think Syria and Egypt, which was from the initial shock of Israel's creation. Not really dude, it has all been isolated incidents. Middle Easterners hate us for a reason. That we are trying to change their way of life. Remember that their way of life is dictated by Islam. And yes, I do think it is fair that men in middle east oppress women. The women's suffrage movement happened all over the world, why can't it happen in the Middle East. Don't be so subjective. Women who don't like it aren't bound to stay. They do leave. I agree US is generous, but I don't agree about sharing democracy. Democracy is one of MANY forms of government that work.
And the example has already been set. What sense is there in remaining? I have said time and time again on these boards that I thought Afghanistan was a good idea, but Iraq wasn't really. To an extent I think Iraq wasn't all that bad of an idea. And to tell the truth the amount of lives from soldiers lost is really minimal. I'm more worried about the US's national debt. Didn't Bush deplete the SS trust that Clinton built up?
