I'm not all that up to date with politics, but aren't the Saudis and Bush pretty tight?
Take it for what it's worth, but elections are creeping up and an announcement like this does nothing but help Bush's image. Seems to me that Bush is pulling a few strings to help his campaign.
I could be totally off on this, but it's just the way I'm seeing it.
