Did you know America supplied German Army with weapons and resources. There was a large group of Americans that wanted to side with the germans. Needless to say you entered the War when Japan attacked you unprovoked.
Its not black and white as you see it sir. Then again I bet your the type of American that is so gung ho you could never admit maybe the US is not the Shining Becon of Light it claims to be world wide. Every move it does to help people is not self-motivated, nor is every move done to just "help" people.
