i have a sony trinitron 21" monitor right now, but the real estate on my desk is super small.... I was getting tired of the big hulky thing, and was going to buy myself a brand new monitor.
On these flat panel lcd monitors, what should I be looking for? I play games like: BF:V, Ultima Online Samurai Edition, DoD, and Hearts Online, or anything with consensual PvP.
Anything specific on the frequency? the Contrast Ratio? etc? I know that on the old monitor, the DPI was really important, but with flat panels, i have no idea whats going on.
I hear people saying stuff about "ghosting" on LCD's and such, "dead pixels". overall, just trying to avoid taking a step backwards in the gaming department. .
I also read on some business section of a newspaper that there will be an influx of LCD's on the market which will lower the price, but Im not too sure about that either.
Im willing to spend about 1000 dollars (hopefully 800 would be optimal, but i know this shit doesnt come cheap) , so if some of you tech guru's/ computerphiles could provide me with some decent input, or reccommend a monitor, id greatly appreciate it.
