The way I see it Kerry wasn't going to make the whole Vietnam thing a big campaign issue until his service was questioned. I'm sure both sides did stupid shit over 30 years ago, and it shouldn't have even been brought up in the first place. But since it was, he's gotta defend himself against people flat out lieing and costing him votes.
As for "flip flopping" and all on issues, So what? He changed his mind on some issues over time, people are allowed to do that.
