I don't think this statement by Annan will cause any more deaths, or any less deaths than would occur otherwise.
The Terrorists do not abide by the U.N.
They act without any thought or concern for other countries, they merely act in their own interest.
They don't care about the U.N. at all, I'm pretty sure Al Queda members say "fuck the U.N." plenty (just like folks say on these boards).
I don't think Bush or the adminstration care about what the U.N. says or thinks.
I don't think Bush is concerned about other countries, what they think, what their intelligence is etc...
The US domestic view is extremely anti-UN, anti-member of the world (but oddly they suddenly care about Iraqis for 1+ yrs, go figure) so that is a non-issue.
I'm curious whether people agree with the terrorists by flaunting the U.N. and not giving a shit about the world (and/other countries) or actually want to be members of the global community and eradicating terrorism intelligently.
I think the U.N. headquarters should be moved to Belgium, hell the Euro is worth more than the buck anyway.
