1) The pentagon is right next to one of the busiest highways in the country. It was full of traffic at the time the pentagon was hit with the plane, and hundreds of people saw it hit.
2) it wasn't a 747... no 747's are used on domestic flights... I think it was a Boeing 737 or something smaller like that
