That when you dont have medical insurance and you have a life threatening illness that you are pretty screwed as far as finances go. In my case I am getting my medical paid for but If I didn't have any family or friends that give a shit about me I would be homeless right now with the lack of money the state provides for living. I think they do need to fix things so that ppl that really do have emergencies can take the time needed to get healthy and not have to worry about money too much. I'm not lazy or stupid, or trying to milk the system, If you think all ppl that get help are leeches or weak, go get yourself a shot of ABVD(chemo) or radiation and tell me how you feel in the morning while you dry heave.
HOWEVER, John Kerry is a flip-flopping faggot and I dont trust him, or think he has the balls to protect us from ppl that want to kill us. Bush does, and if we all get nuked because we have a pres that wont stck up to the bully down the street we wont really have to worry about medicare will we?
I agree with Couls that businesses shouldnt be forced to provide coverage, but I do think there should be something more to help ppl that genuinely need it. Ppl are not all able to have health insurance at all times in life. There was a recent news story here about an old man that robbed a bank to pay the co-pay for his wife's chemo. People shouldn't have to make that kind of decision IMO.
