Who says I'm denying anything?
If in fact there are meetings, then the content of those meeting are important.
That may be difficult to assertain.
Please bear in mind, I would fully support this Iraq effort if I could get a solid reason to. Frankly I would prefer to.
The primary reason for this undertaking has flip flopped too many times, and the front-runner reason-du-jour is never very solid. It is merely whatever bandaid can be slapped on it for the time being.
I would much prefer that WMD were in fact found en masse as was originally pandered. That would have had a much better outcome for everyone.
Can ya link the pre-invasion poll from within Iraq where they say they want a change of government? I just want to check out the numbers (pro -vs- con).
Since the reason-du-jour is to provide the democracy that Iraqis want, there must be a poll which gave us that indicator prior to this whole endevour.
Do you think this would be covered under the "we will do no nation building" statement?
All rhetoric and sarcasm aside, I doubt their ability to actually have a democracy. That has nothing to do with the US and it's intent, efforts or goals. Rather I do not believe the Iraqi's are mature enough to be able to do it and follow through. They are still glued to a millenium old system of chieftains, sultans, rulers, dictators. I have trouble believeing that any peace would last there. Again, it is nothing to do with the US or UK, but rather the way they are.
