That 9800 pro might last you for another year(if that), and you'll be buying another one. With the beefy 6800 and x800 technology available, you can only imagine the quality of games is only going to go up, may as well buy ahead of the curve if not for raw power, then for the fact that no video card technology has ever jumped this far from one gen to the next in terms of performance boosts, that should be enough to convince you right there. 6800 & x800 3D Mark = 12500-13000
A complete 100% increase in performance, never been a leap in technology that far for video cards, and probably for any technology if you think about it. (although I can't be 100% certain)
