I believe what Muj is saying is that he agrees we are in a war against muslim fundamentalists, but our current strategy which invovles a pre-emptive attack on Iraq was misguided and has not been effective.
Since the war on Iraq the fundamentalist muslim groups that are the greatest threat to the US have gained recruits, found easy access to weapons, and have found themselves with a variety of "easy" targets to kill. Zarqawi described them as "Easy and mouthwatering targets for the believers". In addition groups such as Lashkar-e-Tyaba which used to be focused on Pakistan are sending "holy warriors" to Iraq to kill US soliders and civilians. Finally the US has lost a great deal of support in the international community and our army is spread to thin making it much more difficult for us to deal with the immediate threats of Iran and N. Korea.
I don't think anyone doubts that we are in a war, but we disagree with the strategy AND execution.
Many of us are well aware of the effects of the 9/11 attacks. I live 1 mile away from WTC and had 3 friends killed. My co went out of business and I was out of work for 4 months, so I know the effects. That is why I supported the war in Afghanistan, but not Iraq
That picture you have in your sig...when it says why we are here...where is here? Is that Iraq or Afghanistan ?
