Randi Rhodes

I dont know why anyone would even consider her a talk show host. Have you ever heard her? 20 seconds of her garbage is about all anyone can take unless your extream left wing. I think the only one that can stand her is Michal Moore her Boyfriend.

You personal hate for Rush interferes with the power of persuading people to listen to you.
Whats different about Sean Hannity or Al franken, Rush L. or Randi Rhodes? Not much, they all have air time, all of them donate money to their charities and or have charities, and all of them help out on a common ground for the people, but fight different battles. Different voices from different points of view. The topic was, about this message from Rush, fact or crap?
You may have said it unknowingly but you agree with Rush but would like to hear it from one of the Democrats. Rush or Randi Rhodes, I would agree with both of them, if giving more money to our troops is what they are backing.
Also, you can discredit any one person under a microscope, from Martin Luther King to John F Kennedy. We have all made mistakes, knowingly and purposely. Doesnt prohibit someone from greatness.
Rush, in this case hit it right on the head. This is definately fact.

First of all I have yet to see proof that this quote was from Rush. If it is from Rush, then you are correct I do agree with him. I didn't mean to imply I didn't agree with the actual sentiment of the post. If the quote is from him he is absolutely right.
The main point of my post was that Liberals have been complaining about this issue for a long time, and the response from most Right Wing Pundits (and nearly everyone on these boards) is "quit yer whining noob". It pisses me off that when all of a sudden Rush comes along a year later and says the same thing everyone all of a sudden holds it up as the gospel.
At the end of the day you are absolutely right. A good idea is a good idea, and I do my best to evaluate ideas on their merits not on the affiliation of the messenger. I hope that others do the same.
My main gripe with Rush in this particular situation is that he supports the troops when it is convinent and supports the overall right wing agenda, but throws them to the dogs when supporting them could cause damage to the Bush administration.
If you care about the soldiers this is worth reading. as well. http://www.veteransforcommonsense.org/?Page=Campaign&CampaignID=5

As a vet myself, I agree that I signed my name on the line and therefore commited myself to the possibility of death. But at least I did something IMHO to defend this country. Defend? Yes DEFEND. I did as I was ordered and put my faith in the powers that be to make the best decisions as to what was
"best" for this country in order to keep civilians safe no matter which country they existed.
Victims of 9/11, although tragic, were not defending their country. FF and police who died in the line of duty also signed their names on the line understanding the risks involved with their chosen professions. I respect everyone who ran into the horror in order to try to rescue people and those people deserve to be honored as they put their lives on the line for someone else.
Our country has had many wars in it's day. Terrorism is the new war. Did civilians get compensated during the Independence War, French and Indian War, Civil War, or Spanish-American War, WWII (pearl harbor)? NO. All of which took place on our soil and civilian casualties existed.
Sorry, this is just another form of handout and a slap in the face to those people who are trying to defend our country. During golf storm, a friend of mine's wife (E5, 10 years) was on food stamps. Why? He was deployed with us and couldn't get the additional income from his second job. That's right he had a second job since the pay was crap and no on base housing existed. The amount of money he was getting to live off base was only enough to buy a place in the local DMZ and the base wasn't allowing people to live there.

I guess the only thing that really upset me about that, was the fact that they hijacked OUR fucking planes, bypassed OUR security, flew these planes into OUR buildings.
Maybe we should get them back by driving their taxis into their 7-11's.
