In regards to Moose talking about pvp skill in SB vs. WoW.
I had a 70 wizard and a 75 templar in SB. In wow i have a 60 rogue and 60 hunter.
I'd say in terms of small skirmishes, WoW takes far more skill. Just the other day I was wandering WPL when I came across some 55-60' alliance grindnig at felstone. Running up on my hunter and shooting them wouldn't fly, I'd get snared/rooted and gang banged by the mages/warrior.
So instead I used a tree to hide behind, waiting until they had a nasty pull, then started charging up aimed shot. Lots of hunters would lead with hunters mark and send their pet in, but that's just a big bright red flag "HEY HOLY FUCK We'RE BEING GANKED", so I instead lead with aimed shot on the mage, which rocked him with a crit 2k. 1-shot kill, one down, and the other players might chock it up to a mob snice they had a nasty train on their hands.
Next target was the warlock, he was 1/5 health b4 the rest of them even knew wtf was going on. The warrior ran up and intercepted, right into the trap at my feet, and I finished off the other mage and then kited the warrior around the map until he died as well.
In shadowbane, I don't ever remember pulling off shit like that. There was a seriously shitty lack of terrain, which was crucial in hiding behind for the above-mentioned gank. Also, in SB, the only thing that would have held me off against multiple players would be getting full buffs and a boon for example, which allows me to simply brawl it up and win against overwhelming odds and win due to superior def or whatever. I could take a def monkey and beat 10 players at once as long as I had a high enough jacked defense so that none of them could touch me.
Which takes more strategy? I'd say WoW does. But I love SB for guild vs guild.
