Look no further, after using my Dell XPS M170 I've come to realize how much of a bad ass system it truely is.
I've seen similar systems which try to compete, but they're heavy, and loaded with hot desktop processors, like the alienware; which tends to get so hot that it can fry the motherboard or cpu.
Granted, I spent a few extra bucks pimping it out with more ram, and a faster pentium M processor. Some of the newer systems have the Duo processor which is great for multimedia apps.
I've run every game that's a resource hog that you can image, and every bit of it flows smoothly. This notebook stays ultra cool, and I've had at least 2 hours or more of battery life out of it.
I'm highly impressed with it, and it's deffinately an impressive portable gaming rig.
At one point I was considering purchasing an Alienware, or a Toshiba, but this is probably the best investment I've made.
So if you're looking for a notebook with kickass performance, check out Dell's latest XPS notebooks with Nvidia's 7800 GTX, or even Dell's multimedia E series machines with faster ram, and duel core processing power.
It's worth buying, if you're willing to spend a lot for a notebook.

if your that fucking weak you can't pick up a laptop you need to stop hitting the cheetos and hit the gym. it's an amazing system, but for 5gs i'd rather build a desktop that will outperform it for less mulahs.

not to support panemon, but heavy laptops suck for school. I lug around a 9 lb laptop, and some books/ binders with paper, the weight skyrockets to about 35 ~ 40 lbs. easy.
Not that heavy, but it sure is a pain in the fucking ass to haul around 5 flights of stairs.

I just got a Dell XPS 400 3.0 2gb ram and I turned in on last night and the fucking thing just had a black screen with a blinking cursor than later got a blue screen with an error called BAD_POOL_CALLER. Called customer Service, was on for 2 hours with some Indian guy and problem is not resolved.

I don't have a problem with it being heavy, it's just more convienent. Plus it's a portable gaming rig, which makes taking it around easy, and it just all around kicks ass at everything I use it for.
Plus heavy laptops have those nasty desktop processors which tend to heat up so bad that it completely bogs down the performance, and eventually fries the motherboard. The pentium M uses less voltage, thus creates significantly less heat, which runs the processor at max performance at all times. But for saftey reasons, I won't overclock the processor.
I'm staying at a hotel in Columbus Ohio right now with my friend working on a house project out there, and I am running on Wi-Fi- playing on my friends WoW account, and I love it.
