I disagree on all of those cars. I say, get yourself a Galant VR4. Nice ride, nice power, AWD. Or go the other route, get yourself a 99 GSX. Sporty, stylish, great cost to power ratio and as long as you dont rice it out, it will turn heads in the proper fashion.

What are you talking about? I have had the car( my car in picture ) almost a year, in that time I have heavly modified it ( purchased it stock )and to date have had little to no problems unless they are things that I caused. Eclipses, Talons and Lasers ( DSM's ) are reliable cars as long as you keep up on maintaining them and dont go cheap on things ( always use Mobil 1 full synthetic oil and the highest octane gas you can get ).
Any car, if not maintained will always be in the shop. Doesnt matter what car it is. Treat it right and it will treat you right.

Its rated that, damned right it is. Most people dont take care of their cars and 90-99 DSM's are very touchy cars. The more you modify the more you must be on time with repairs and routine maint that needs to be done.
Here is my current setup on my car. ( not going to edit due to going to sleep in a few minutes so prices will be listed since I keep track of money spent on each project )
$0258.69 Ingen Intake Reserc
$0216.04 GReddy Type S Bov
$0100.00 Blitz Bov
$0215.09 DSM 2G Greddy Upper & Lower Pipes
$0240.26 Apexi N1 Downpipe
$0563.36 Apexi N1 FULL CATBACK EXHAUST
$0525.00 Apexi Front Mount Intercooler
$0125.00 Turbo Timer
$0061.00 Clamps for FMIC
$0643.00 Greddy Tdo6h/20-g Turbo
$0060.00 Boost Gauge
$0079.00 A/F Gauge
$0215.00 550 Injectors
$0259.00 Apexi S-AFC 2
!0090.00 Wolboro 255 HP Fuelpump
$0300.00 SBR Manifold
$0164.99 Dattalogger (Palm/Soft/Cables)
$0165.00 Dyno run 261whp 238 tq
$0040.00 95 Eprom ECU
$0130.00 AEM FPR w/ Gauge
$0045.00 Light weight Crank Pulley
$0210.00 Tial 38mm Wastegate
$0024.00 2 x 38mm copper gasket
$0006.00 2.5 inch exhaust gasket
$0100.00 FPR set up kit
$0521.23 IPT Restalled Converter
$0400.49 IPT Reworked Valve Body
$0072.00 Helmet
$0093.10 Poly engine mounts
$0053.00 Transmission cooler
$0084.89 Trans Temp Gauge w/ Sender Block
So far, the only thing I broke was a input shaft seal which required me to drop the transmission but that didnt matter because I had to drop it anyways for the reworked valvebody and the restalled converter. It was going to get replaced anyways during the drop so I cant really consider that a problem. Still need to get it tuned, should be pushing 300-320awhp next week on 20psi on pump. thinking about going higher on boost but I need to wait until I get the head studs and head gasket and then I can raise it and use race gas.
