If you join the military, you are a soldier. A soldier follows orders without complaint or question. As an American, you vote/elect representatives to run our country and make decisions. As a solidier you agree, by oath, to follow the chain of command.
I don't want a thinking military with precedence set by officers like this who refuse to follow orders. What next? Military officials to decide that it is time for martial law? Citizens vote, Soldiers uphold.

Our legislative branch voted on this war. It is legal.

If they voted again right now it wouldn't pass. It went through when we thought everything that we had thought which is what the officer had exactly said. Few years ago, he agreed. Now? Nope. And now i bet if you revote on the war it wouldn't pass.

Tell ya what I'd rather stand next to my battle buddies and face death, than make some bull shit political stunt and refuse to goto war because I may not agree with the reasons we are there. His men counted on him, and he failed them. I pray to God I never have a platoon leader as spineless as this piece of shit.
It is not my job as a soldier to ask why, it is to execute, his job was no different. He failed his platoon, the Army, and the people of the United States by doing this. You shouldn't have a shred of pitty for this idiot.
