On the climatic subject.
We are in a cyclical warming period, however human contributions are exaggerating it. A natural cycle exists (last high point was 8200 yrs ago). The correlation between atmospheric carbon & median temp is established and runs back quite a ways (well before we learned to use spoons or walk on 2 feet). 8200 yrs ago, things were quite tropical (in the high temperate zones). The current low to temperate zones were either deserts or tropical. Greenland had trees and a temperate climate.
We have burped out enough to provide 300% of the carbon in the atmosphere then existed at that time. By extrapolating the temps and carbon contents, it appears the this planet will rise in temp in a very bad manner. We can expect a 24C increase at the poles, and extending towards the equator (unsure if it is a linear progression of temp change). We are also in a feedback loop now, it will not stop. You will not hear this publicly (due to political watering down & not wanting to sound alarmist), but we are past the tipping point.
The left has focused on doomsday scenarios, the right has ignored it and now blames natural cycles. Both have contributed equally to the invalidation of the real issue.
3 countries will benefit from this event (Russia, New Zealand, Canada) and all others will suffer tremendously.
I don't care about left & right arguments. I encourage all those that do so to continue, it moves the subject forward. I have run the numbers and conferred with others who have done the same. Everything is watered down for john q public, even this post.
