This is all speculation on my part from my past experiences with Ryan and Zippy. It simply comes down to pleasing the UOR base from Hybrid. When they got WTFMan to promo their shard a lot of players from Hybrid started playing. This is of course "hear say" on my part since I really haven't followed their shard/politics for at least a few years now. When a UOR player hops on a Pre Ren shard they always expect recovery timers, always.
There are only three main factors when producing a Pre UOR shard. Accurate insta hit, spells including damage and timers, and correct weapon damage and timers. The poison system is also a key factor which was quite obvious with Novus Opiate. They had a pretty accurate overall system except poison and yet it still ruined the pvp.
To wrap it all up it simply comes down to Ryan's ego. That Eddie Munster looking faggot obviously knows nothing about creating a Pre Ren shard, and prefers catering to his traditional UOR base before he ever would create an accurate Pre Ren shard. When it comes to someone who actually knows what they're doing his altered ego kicks in. There is no way in hell that "you" would ever know more than him on the subject matter. That is why I will never again play another RunUO shard or even assist in one. Ryan has to be about the most ignorant fool next to Azeroth when it comes to running a UO shard. You want to know what the sad part is? From what I gather Jacob's version, a man who hasn't even played T2A, that his pvp system was more accurate to the time period than what has came in the last few years. That is just sickening.
