You don't have to be competeting in a tournament or pro level for competition to exist...

Any serious FPS player would buy the game for the PC before buying it for a console...

Just like you pointed out with more of your personal friends having shit computers.. how many 8-13 year old kids do you think have computers up to par? Is that the competition you enjoy playing against?

That is total bullshit...there is serious competition on console and I would also consider myself a serious FPS player.

This seems to be another example of you spouting off information that you have little or no experience with. Do you even have an xbox or are you reading all of this information from the boards like you do with DF? The only opinions that are valid are those who have played both and the only opinion about competitive play is from those who have played league on both platforms.

Do you not consider Halo 3 to be a competitive FPS game? Halo 3 players are some of the highest paid professional gamers in the world. Do some research and use facts instead of just stating biased opinions with nothing to back them up.

What's your point or do you even have one? I'm not trying to argue that xbox is more competitive than PC, what I'm telling you is the many reasons why I am going to purchasing it on the 360.

The only thing I have heard from you so far is that the PC is more competitive, but as always you have no facts to back it up. You still haven't answered my question, which you have clearly avoided. I guess you don't have a console and therefore have no choice but to play PC. The choice has been made for you and just like anything else, you will try to convince everyone else how you are right even though you have no choice.

First I don't give a shit why you're purchasing it for the xbox I never asked that.. all I did in this whole thread was say that PC > Xbox for competitive play. If you're not trying to argue that then why the fuck do you keep responding to me?

Lex.... you should reread this thread, not only are you the minority opinion on the matter but you're the one trying to convince PC gamers to play it on the console with your "reasons".

Go back to believing your a serious FPS player and nerd rage more about hacks.

I am not arguing that PC is better for competitive play, because that may be true. I have yet to see any proof though, but that doesn't stop you from claiming that it is.

I am arguing that it is irrelevant if you think there are more competitive players on PC, unless you are a pro. You won't even play against pros in CoD6 because they will be playing private matches. So if you have a job IRL and still consider yourself a competitive FPS player, you will be able to find leagues for any platform. Instead of avoiding the questions posed, as you always do, why don't you directly respond to why the PC CoD6 will be more competitive and how that will effect the non-pro gamer.

there wont technically be pros in CoD6 in the beginning, everyone will be scrimming against whoever they can find scrims against... it's how it usually works. LoD played and beat some of the teams that ended up being some of the best competitors in CoD4.... that's called playing competitively.

You guys are somehow confusing playing a game competitively with being a professional gamer. I really don't know how it works with consoles, but on PCs you can easily find scrims against organized teams, and host the matches/scrims on a private server, with modified and balanced league settings(most private servers will run the league config which balances certain things out that haven't been patched yet).. simple. Have you ever played on a team before Lex? Because if you haven't I really doubt you'll ever understand how it works. In my opinion, joining a public game isn't "competitive," it's what I do between scrimmages(which i find to be more fun).

Can you even get scrims on a console? Can you even host private regional servers? Can you add mods to them? Are there leagues? I'll admit that it SEEMS like competitive console gaming is gaining popularity, but again.. I feel that's a symptom of a dying PC market(NOT because consoles are better)... besides MMOs

Do I plan on being a pro? No.. I have neither the time nor energy, but I have played on a professional level in the past in Call of Duty.. and it was on the PC.. and we won $ at a major tournament which had 8392589235 PCs and 0 consoles. The top prize was 100K for the winners of the CS:Source tournament. Granted this was maybe 5 years ago, but still.

its to bad we ended up not finishing that CAL season we easily had the skill to place but we just lacked commitment and a good practice schedule.

What does being a pro have to do with playing more competitvely?

Theres a lot of factors that play into why even pubbing on the PC would bring more competition than the 360. One simple reason is player capacity. What can the 360 hold max of 16 players?

Now just put this as fair as possible.. say the skill level for 16 360 players and 16 PC players are the exact same.. a few good players and a few shitty players.. and then double that number for the PC and you isntantly double your competition because you can choose to join a 32 player server or higher.

How about the game play? It gets dumbed down and slowed down because like Plexx and others mentioned the Mouse+Keyboard is far superior to a gamepad something as simple as being able to visualize more faster with the mouse for example give the PC an edge meaning your reaction times have to be faster.

Stop falling back on some stupid question thats been answered a few times by myself and other people in this thread.. just because its not the "proof" you want. See the funny thing about proving shit is you're welcome to prove the opposite if this was some type of thesis paper I could see why you would want me to provide you with sources but until you take any inititve to prove the opposite you can keep looking like the tool you are.

Agreed it is too bad.. I think our lack of players caused that we needed a bigger rotation so people could have lives and not have to dedicate 4 days a week to the team if they had other shit to do.
