Im a huge Diablo fan... It has a story which is pretty decent. You can play it single player or up to 8 players on battlenet. They pretty much noobified PKing in D2, but the game is fun to just play. D3 will likely be the same... It takes a long time to get all the leet gear (think WoW), but you don't really need it to finish the game. There will likely be a grip of LoD playing D3... casually... Its not really a MMO type game.

games like diablo are worth playing through, slowly... with some good friends...

When you get online it can turn really gear based though, at least from what I remember.. most people just decked their characters out in magic find gear and did loot runs over and over again(sound like anything familiar?)......... but the gear runs weren't very painful at all, I remember busting out loot runs in minutes.

The top gear in D2, as you can imagine... was UBER LEET DEWD... I got a Windforce(when they were the shit) from a friend for my Amazon... and she turned ridiculously powerful.

I wont be skipping the online play, in fact I'll probably ONLY play online, but it can turn into the ever so familiar gear grind bullshit like some of our most beloved games!

I'll only play online, but I'd want to go through it... slowly.. with a group of friends for the first time... Then after that, its level and treasure fest. Would be fun to do with ventrillo too.

would be awsome if D3 comes with some type of arenas like WoW... c'mon blizz don't dissapoint!

1100 hp instant dmg shield (lvl charms were the shit!)
perfect block (yeah i lost some mana/hps because of the crazy stat lvls but 75% chance to parry = teh leets)
invis bone spirits (break the spell cast speed limit)
and all the utility spells to pvp against any build

It was the only build other than my teleporting assassin that could beat a perf WF equiped GSzon - which is why I made the damn thing... hated zons

Orc pimp you were just silly to continue playing a barb after the xpac - Sui and I built a barb w/ grandfather, SS, prepatch non duped AV, etc. and could never win w/ that thing. (ps. I know Bal was on his sorc more than anything else.. I was there & I know you were not)

PS. I miss the fun times we had in that thing & I am looking forward to D3

Only horrible exp I have ever had in a Diablo game was I lost a whole account worth of goooood lewts cause I changed the password - smoked a bowl - and completely forgot wtf my password was

nothing like loosing 8 inventorys/banks worth of shit cause your too stoned lol

that D2 was entirely about MF runs for about 80% of your game play time...

then 10% went to trading what you found w/ all the other fr00ts doing MF runs

and finally the last 10% was the farting arround w/ friends fucking up each others builds

and for sure vent is a must this time arround

also if they have a hardcore mode it must be played to grief other players

there was no sweeter feeling then blowing up r7-r8 hardcore chars on MF runs using a junk r5 trap assassin

You can do that in D2... Just group up 1v1, 2v2.... 4v4 or whatever combo of 8 people... and then each start at a diff part of the zone. Its not quite as automated as arena's, but its do able with enough coordination.
