...and rightfully so. There are many constitutional violations in the patriot act. The worst of which being warrant less wiretapping which I have a feeling it going to be one of the extended provisions.

I don't think everything inside of the Patriot Act is great either. However, all this complaining about wiretapping seems stupid in my opinion. Who the hell cares if the government listens in on your conversations? Seriously, what is going to happen if you're not talking about criminal activity...

Will Stretch be a little embarrassed when they find out about his homo erotic conversations with all those faggots in San Francisco "if" he knew about the intrusion into his conversation? He would never know what had just happened to him though.

This situation is no different than fast food worries. Don't use telecommunication devices if you're worried about government wiretapping, just like choosing not to eat fast food for intrusion worries. People are always slurping up some ass juice and left over sperm residue in their fast food products rather they want to believe it or not. However, the "unknown" isn't anything to worry about since it's exactly that "the unknown".

I am in no way saying any of this is right but that's life...

It's illegal for one. If I want to talk shit about my government over the phone I should be able to without fear of being recorded by a keyword catcher. First amendment. That's the EXACT purpose of it. Freedom to talk shit about political opponents. Learn something about the country you live in bro.

The reason I can go on stage and say "Obama is a communist and should be assassinated" without fear of arrest is because of the first amendment. Freedom of political expression. So why shouldn't I be able to say that on the phone without being logged? Are they logging everytime somebody says "Praise Allah"? "Praise Jesus"?

They already exposed a politicians love affair from wiretaps using the powers of the patriot act. Wait, how is that keeping us safe from terrorists?

Are you even an American Faust? You don't sound like your from this country originally or know much about our rights and constitution. I suggest taking some community college classes for foreigners from varying cultures.

These provisions have all been modified since the Bush administration to require judicial oversight? I tend to agree with you Rain, but I don't believe these programs to be fail the 4th or 5th amendments tests. I also don't have a problem with the theory of roving wiretaps but I do have concerns over the the accuracy/human element of such an idea.

They have NOT been modified. They are attempting to do that right now.

Notice one very important line in that bill towards the bottom. Retroactive immunity would be removed for telecoms. If it passes you would immediately see how illegal the wiretapping was, because there will be HUGE lawsuits. They are attempting to modify the rest of the provisions to exclude non-criminal citizens or for using those special powers in non-terrorist related criminal cases.

Also, since I don't give a shit about the wiretapping that makes me not from this country or understand the laws?

I think we just went back to the first question in my post, eh.

'm sure you understand your home countries constitution just fine I was just trying to educate you on how Americans perceive their constitutional rights. I pay attention mostly to just regional politics. I wasn't trying to insult you for being foreign. I was just curious which country you were from. I didn't mean any offense by it. My guess would be UAE. As their politics seem to fall in line with yours near perfectly.
