Definitely worth it Bal, it's extremely educational also, I've learned more watching these shows than I did in all of my schooling. What's interesting is that the Universe is still expanding, and the generally accepted theory is that it may expand so far that space/time tears and the whole thing is destroyed. What else is interesting is they say that since the Universe is still expanding, it's pulling everything apart, and they predict a moment in time in the very far future called "The Great Freeze", as all the gas in all the stars will eventually burn out and space will be pitch black with only Dark Matter left.
One of the most interesting segments was the one on the moon, and how it was created. The moon is slowly moving away from us by about 1 inch every year, and at some point will not be in Earth's orbit. Although extremely interesting, all of the "end game" of the universe ends in us dieing somehow, so it's somewhat depressing at the same time as it's interesting.
The more I watch this show the more it becomes more clear how lucky we are and how perfect the conditions are on Earth for life to flourish. A lot of things happened in our planets history which if they didn't, we wouldn't be here. Like the massive collision of Earth and (they think another planet), which broke off most of the earths crust and eventually coalesced into the moon and at the same time tilted our access and started the earth spinning, which is the reason we have seasons. Also it's very interesting how much of a role our magnetic field plays in our survival, if we didn't have a molten core of iron we'd be dead. It's so trippy to wonder how many other situations like ours have happened. Anyway, if you like thinking about shit like this, this series is for you, you will not be disappointed, in full HD of course.
