Can't hate on Obama now. He is a national hero. Bush tried for 8 years and failed. Obama did it in 2 years. Wikileaks confirmed that Obama talked to Leon Panetta shortly after taking office and told him the CIA's top priority is Usama Bin Laden. Obama, CIA, and Navy Seals should get all the credit for this.

agreed.

These Obama hating motherfuckers will always find something to complain about. This was all a very complex operation and Obama played an integral role.

The credit goes to the intel people and Seal Team 6. Obama just stood there and said "yea, go get that guy." Who's to say, if Obama was in office on 9/11, it wouldn't have taken 10 years for this (ok 10 years seems long but still, I don't hunt international terrorists so I won't presume it's easy)?

I'm all for saying "way to do your job", but any president who didn't think bin Laden wasn't some priority would be a pretty crappy C&C.

P.S., his announcement was awful self centered. A lot of "I" and "my" in it. "At my direction...", "I". I'd bank on his being asleep when it actually happened.

The "I's" and "My's" were a way for him to convey that he personally, as the leader of the world's most powerful country, authorized the mission and to publicly declare to the world that he takes full responsibility for our illegal incursion into another country. No matter what happens, this operation doesn't even leave the ground unless the man in charge puts his ass on the line and says "do it".

If it had gone wrong, you and everyone else would be skewering him like a roasting pig on an open fire. He and he alone would be responsible if those men didn't make it back alive, and the sword cuts both ways. It went our way thankfully.

He did give credit to the intel people and the guys on the ground as well.

Keeping the ISI or w/e they are called out of the loop was a great move, they are rotten to the core with Al-Qaeda/Taliban sympathizers. I bet they already blew several opportunities to get to Osama by asking pakistani intelligence for input.

Hard to credit a president for successfully killing Osama, but if I was to delegate tasks, I would have alot more confidence in team Obama's ability to deal with things in a cool-headed and composed manner than team Bush junior.

I have no clue whether the president gets to handpick people for intelligence positions though.

President picks his top level guys who bring in their own people.

Obama did give Bush some credit during his speech.

For me - they should have burned his corpse and dropped it from a C-130 40,000 feet up down into the Ocean.
