Also the PC market has been non existent since 2004. And really hasn't fluctuated too much outside "the big boom" online gaming presence in one individual game, around 2.5-5 million covering all regions, to 9 mil topping off at 11. I don't know the console numbers, but I'm sure they're at the least in between the two. On top of that, curbing Chinese gold farmers (or a contractually secure alternative, anyway).

It just seems like this is the route companies are going with rather than feeling like you need to risk getting banned and losing tons of time investments, in order to compete, you're competing to acquire the items at no cost and sell them for RL $'s. This seems to make sense as a positive whether you're the type of person who would never buy shit from either of the 2 options, or not.
