Plan on a 8-10 year life cycle. Its only been 5 since it came out, and games still dont use all its potential.

It's been 5 years since what the release of PS3? Games might not use it's potential but TV technology has and they're doing a hard push for this 3d shit.. I thought you worked at Sony.. atleast be honest they just haven't gotten enough $ for the PS3 so they don't want to put out the new model yet that and Xbox hasn't so they don't feel pressure.

3D will hardly be the next big thing. The majority of consumers don't feel it is a necessity and it overly complicates matters for production houses and broadcasters. HD was expensive enough, 3D isn't worth it.

Everything is moving towards 3D...you'll have the capability, but for those who don't want it they can disable the function.
Anyone look into Xbox 720 (aka Xbox Loop)? Looks to be heavily favouring kinect 2, which will even be able to read facial expression and lip movement.

lol TV manufacturers are investing way too much money in the development of 3D TVs for it not to be the next thing. Japan is currently getting all the 3d tv love with the release of 3d TVs that do not require viewers to wear glasses.. once that technology is cheaper so that they can be used in TVs that are much larger than 20" we will see them in america. But don't fool yourself into thinking it's a fad at this point.
Look how far HD tv has come over the last 5-10 years now just about every broadcast is in HD do you honestly think that 3D won't be at the same point in 10 years? I'm sure the PS4 will almost completely evolve around 3D it's going to be the major seperation between PC gaming and Console gaming going forward.

From what I've read, they're looking at doing Time Crisis as a demo game for PS4. They most likely won't abandon cell processors either, since they bought out Toshiba's cell chip fabrication facilities. Give it enough time for developers to learn how to utilize it more, and I'm certain they will be able to do absolutely amazing things with PS4.

I dont understand what you are saying... PS3 has had 3d capabilities for a long time. In fact we are just about to release our own Playstation brand 3d tv. I'm not sure if Xbox is rushing to release their new platform, they haven't made a dollar of profit since it was released... Microsoft just doesnt care, they have billions.
