Have to agree with Firaxbro on this one.
3D is such a gimmicky technology, it's been around forever and has never really 'taken off'. It's a fad, and there's basically no consumer demand for it. When going to the theater I almost always opt for the 2D version. Although I do see some gaming potential with it.
You have to ask yourself if you, "have to have!" this technology, and are willing to upgrade your current TV for a gimmicky feature. Comparing 3D with HD is idiotic... We will always be striving for better visual quality in TVs. That's always been the natural progression for TV tech.
Unless I get some "help me obi wan kenobe you're my only hope," or tennis playing, spandex wearing hoe via Total Recall 3D projection type shit, I wont be upgrading. If you want to sit in your living room with your stupid glasses like an asshole watching ESPN just to realize your dream of viewing balls flying at your face then that's your prerogative.
