This is about making it harder for kids/people to get automatic weopons. I like using the seatbelt correlation. Back in the 40-50s car manufacturers didn't have to include seatbelts. Than they became a requirement and the amount of deaths in a car decreased by 90%. Something needs to happen with stronger regulation and the process needs to change. Yah it's not going to stop these things or crime in general, but its a damn good start. Obama is going to do something.
