You're right. We should be concerned about the dangers that have the biggest emotional impact, NOT the ones that present the most danger according to statistics.

If you wanna save 1000 x as many lives as would be saved by banning assault rifles, ban fast food, alcohol and tobacco.

People "choose" to eat poorly, drink and smoke themselves to death. I've never been chased down in public by someone wielding a hot dog or flask of Mad Dog 20/20.

All I know is that in 2011 there were 7 murders by rifle(which would include any AR style weapons) in Oklahoma. So out of the 219 murders in my state that year 7 of them may have been assault rifles. I am sure a few of those rifle deaths were bolt action rifles. Just about everyone I know has an AR style rifle...just 7 people were killed with them though. I really give no fucks about assault rifles as I am far far more likely to be stabbed. If you live in a state that has >200 deaths by rifles a year...move!
