G-Fist, you could actually learn something here. Hate to say it, but Sonya's right. Part of being a good attorney is being able to analyze an argument and systematically attack or support it (depending on which side you're on) with logical counter arguments. Hexen and Sonya are both really good at this from what I've seen. Part of doing this well is the ability to weed out erroneous material and red herrings that people try and throw out there to sway the argument in their favor when they've run out of logical reasons for why they're right. In the world of philo and logic geeks, those are called logical fallacies. That's why he utterly fucking annihilates you in every single sparring session on these boards. He's also got a lot of experience on you in this type of combat lol. I don't know much about crim law but he used to do civil law and part of what makes a really good civil attorney is the ability effectively write motions. I cannot tell you how many motion papers I've read where attorneys clearly have no credible basis for their argument (and they know it) so they start throwing out tons of erroneous bullshit. Basically throw everything they can think of at the wall and hoping something sticks. Often, this is even a tactic to whittle the opposition's litigation funds down so you win due to them financially tapping out. If you're going to make it in civil law, you have to be able to systematically weed out these erroneous arguments and make your opposition look retarded to the judge.
I'm only saying all this because you actually seem like a reasonably intelligent guy, albeit it a bit extreme in your views. If you want other intelligent people to take you seriously in an argument, you need to learn how logically frame your arguments better and prop them up with credible sources, not rhetoric and subjective story telling.
