OK, I'm checking out of this then. If that's how it's coming off, I don't want to be involved. I didn't start commenting to promote one side or the other. I just wanted to get some clarification and hopefully clear things up about how it works on the other side of the fence. I've seen a lot of these debate devolve into rapid back biting around here. G-Fist, you could actually learn something here. Hate to say it, but Sonya's right. Part of being a good attorney is being able to analyze an argument and systematically attack or support it (depending on which side you're on) with logical counter arguments. Hexen and Sonya are both really good at this from what I've seen. Part of doing this well is the ability to weed out erroneous material and red herrings that people try and throw out there to sway the argument in their favor when they've run out of logical reasons for why they're right. In the world of philo and logic geeks, those are called logical fallacies. That's why he utterly fucking annihilates you in every single sparring session on these boards. He's also got a lot of experience on you in this type of combat lol. I don't know much about crim law but he used to do civil law and part of what makes a really good civil attorney is the ability effectively write motions. I cannot tell you how many motion papers I've read where attorneys clearly have no credible basis for their argument (and they know it) so they start throwing out tons of erroneous bullshit. Basically throw everything they can think of at the wall and hoping something sticks. Often, this is even a tactic to whittle the opposition's litigation funds down so you win due to them financially tapping out. If you're going to make it in civil law, you have to be able to systematically weed out these erroneous arguments and make your opposition look retarded to the judge.

I'm only saying all this because you actually seem like a reasonably intelligent guy, albeit it a bit extreme in your views. If you want other intelligent people to take you seriously in an argument, you need to learn how logically frame your arguments better and prop them up with credible sources, not rhetoric and subjective story telling.

I'm by no means saying its going on here but it kills me when people make conclusions about stuff that they have no idea about. For example, I'm getting my PhD in Geophysics and were doing studies on induced seismicity. When people hear what I'm doing they immediately say AMGAWD its the oil companies fault blah blah blah because its what everyone else says. I want to say what academic journal did you read that in? Whats your basis of reasoning? Makes me want to punch someone in the face lol.

Here.. lets do some math real quick & prove the over population thing wrong. Stay with me now as I actually did this for a project as a child in 2nd grade. Yeah I am about to fuck your world up so stay with me.. its simple math now.




Anyways lets get to some math for your over population ;

Lets take every human on earth.. lets over estimate that number at 7 billion human monkeys on the planet now... lets go ahead & add in an EXTRA BILLION to account for all of the humans that have EVER LIVED on this planet.. an extra billion should cover all the humans that have ever lived/died..

lets say 8 BILLION TOTAL HUMAN SOULS (including every caveman long since dead, every aborted fetus, every everyone from all of time...

Now lets go ahead & pretend for a second that all 8 BILLION of us are now living on the planet together right now (as if caveman never died, fetus was never aborted, etc. ) Now some of you would say 'OMG 8 Billion! - we are over crowded' & many then turn to the 'kill em' mentality to 'fix' it.




Ok well lets go ahead & kill em.. not just some of em to 'balance' the over population ... NO LETS KILL ALL OF EM.. EVERY LAST HUMAN SCUM MUST DIE FOR THEIR CRIMES AGAINST THE PLANET!

SO WE HAVE 8 BILLION HUMANS ALL DEAD.. now lets actually stack up the bodies to truly see how over crowded we are.



I am going to give EVERYONE THAT EVER LIVED the same sized 'COFFIN' - & its a BIG MOTHER FUCKING COFFIN.

All 8 billion dead humans each get a coffin 8' x 4' x 4' - big fucking coffin right? 8 Feet long, 4 feet wide, & 4 feet high... EVERYONE, from the giants among us such as a Sumo Wrestler or a Shaq O'Neal to the smallest of us.. again the aborted fetuses.. everyone gets a big mother fucking box for a coffin. I'm not skimping here as its the end of humanity so everyone gets a giant coffin




Now for the math.. stay with me now shits about to get grade school math on you.. have to use that multiplication/divide thing......



So 8 feet times 4 feet times 4 feet is = 128 SQAURE FEET PER HUMAN BODY... (now if I cant fit a human body in 128 square feet of space I have some serious fucking problems.. anyways.. everyone fits in my coffin)

128 square feet x 8 billion monkeys = 1024000000000 SQUARE FEET OF SPACE TAKEN UP BY MY COFFINS

1 SQUARE MILE OF SPACE = 27878400 SQUARE FEET

Soooooooooo.... Lets now divide up my coffin space to my square mileage & figure out how much space we would take up (again over estimating our current population.. adding in & over estimating all of the humans that have ever lived.. giving everyone (big or small) a coffin the size of a small bathroom).

1024000000000 divided by 27878400 = 36731 miles



Now sure that sounds like a whole lot.. until you consider that our planet has 197 MILLION SQUARE MILES for just the surface..

Now, keep in mind, I'm not talking about stacking people up as high as we can go or burring people in the ground as deep as we can go. Just stacking people up in 1 square mile stacks in my giant coffins.

Just for shits & giggles - you do you realize that the volume of the Earth is 260,000,000,000 CUBIC miles.



Fact is; we are not over populated & we COULD NEVER BE - anyone telling you otherwise is... well I will let you figure it out

Every time I hear this, I'm tempted to launch into a tirade about how they better have a quarter of a million dollars bankrolling that idea and that my former boss used to make these 3 guarantees to all our civil plaintiffs who walked through our door:
