This is great fucking news. Shit could go like 10 seasons! And I did read your spoiler, I know you don't let the good shit slip. I responded to your spoiler with my own spoiler, so I wouldn't fuck it up for anyone that hasn't watched.

It doesn't seem that hard to figure out...A Song of Fire and Ice: Huge spoiler, for those not reading the books. Fire = Danaerys and Ice = Jon Snow

Book 3 was split into 2 seasons because it's so large. Books 4 and 5 run concurrent in the timeline so you'll see the first half of book 4 and 5 in first year and the last half of 4 and 5 in the second year.
They might even get 3 years out of 4 and 5 if they wanted to extend it. By that time 6 should already be out. He's already said book 6 and 7 is looking at 1500 pages each. So by the time they get to 6 they'll have enough material to make a couple seasons of it. I can't wait to own the bluray set once this series is complete.
GRRM gave the HBO producers the overview of what direction he's going to take so even if they catch up they can go off on their own tangent, with his approval. I've heard they discussed doing a flashback season like what Spartacus did.
Go Lakers!!!! Go Bucs!!!! Go Dodgers!!!!

Man book 4 was by far the worst , so much dialogue and walking I hope they can make it exciting. Book4-5 were suppose to be together but he took so long to get it right he released feast for crows early. Although they have some book four already in now.

Apparently Book 4 will take place over three episodes. Nothing really happens and characters who have nothing to do with the story are focused on too much. It's not consequential to the story.

Anti]It doesn't seem that hard to figure out...A Song of Fire and Ice: Huge spoiler, for those not reading the books. Fire = Danaerys and Ice = Jon Snow I call your bluff and raise: The seventh and final book's name was at first "A Time for Wolves", then he later changed it. This pretty much sums up what it's going to be about, though not all characters will get a happy ending or things settling their way. It's not LotR after all.

You're thinking of book 6, not 7.

Do not read if you haven't read all the books. There was a big thread a while back (maybe a year and a half or more) where Rainman made a bunch of predictions about what will happen.
He theorized that John Snow is the bastard of Ned Stark and one of the Targaryen women. I cannot remember which one he said and I cannot seem to find the thread.
We all know Jon supposedly dies at the end of the last book. That was a shock to even me. I suspect either he didn't really die or he will resurrected somehow.
There's also Aegon Targaryen, Daenerys' nephew who we find out survived. He's a bit of a wild card.
I'd say it's impossible to guess what will happen at this point, especially with this writer.

I dont know how many people picked this up, but that was basically confirmed in the first episode of this season. He basically said prince rhaegar cheated on red viper's sister and had a kid. Go back and carefully listen to the conversation between the red viper and tyrion. The biggest hint that jon snow is a targaryen.
