The AMG isn't a "big block". Even at 6.3L, it's not. It's a "small block" that's bored out. The C6 Z06's that had 7.0L v8's were not even big blocks. They were small blocks that were bored out and sleeved despite that being the exact same displacement as the 67 vette's 427 cubic inch big block engine.

I'm pretty sure the whole big block / small block thing died in the mid 70's due to the fuel crisis.
