plexx]Wait though Vermi... Wont the people with mental illness/history of violence just use another means to kill instead? Should we restrict the mentally ill from possessing knives and pressure cookers??
Even IF you restrict the mentally ill/individuals with a history of violence from purchasing guns, won't they just go through the burgeoning black market to buy guns? Drugs are illegal, but I can go buy a gram of heroin right now if I wanted.
Your ideas sound like a big-government bureaucratic nightmares if you ask me. Not my ideas. This is legislation that already has passed in CA (mental illness gun laws) or that is currently in the works (the gun violence restraining order thing hasn't passed yet). I didn't come up with these ideas. I'm saying these are laws that place restrictions on gun ownership that I am okay with. I only mentioned it because Blazzen brought it up and contrary to what Rok and others may think about me, I don't think there should be zero restrictions on gun ownership.

Restricting the gun rights of the mentally ill and allowing the police to own the equipment needed to enforce such laws was my whole point. I'm glad I was able to talk some sense into you.

I don't recall the second fucking amendment of the constitution saying, "right to keep and bear arms(except when Vermi says otherwise)."

Again plexx.....I didn't draft the laws. These are not my ideas. I am simply telling you what about laws that were already passed in CA or are in the works. If you live in CA and you don't agree with them, then exercise your rights as a voter and citizen and try to change the law and/or prevent new ones from being passed. I get your point. But I think Hexen already did a pretty good job of explaining why the 2nd amendment argument is a tough one to navigate. There's already tons of restrictions on the 2nd amendment plexx. I know I sure as fuck can't go buy tanks, rpg's, or ZewweeZ's favorite, the muthafucking CHANG. In a democarcy, laws will be passed that the majority are okay with. That's just how it is.

Also, this thread started about the concealed carry laws in CA being overturned through the courts as unconstitutional. I started this thread because I was happy about that. I believe that CA's practice of banning open carry and then making concealed carry so restrictive that 95% of people are prohibited from doing that too, was too much of an infringement on the 2nd amendment.
However, the laws I mentioned above are also an infringement on the 2nd amendment. You are right about that. They are just not an infringement that is so drastic that I care about it. When I consider it logically in my mind, I'm okay with that much infringement. I get that you and many others may not agree. I also totally get the idea that when you start infringing constitutional freedoms, in any way, you are playing a dangerous game.

Whatever you say, "Comrade." Did you get those arguments from your, "Manifesto?"
I'm actually supporting legislation in my state that would allow me to surround my house with ballistic missile defense systems, so no, I don't agree with the laws proposed by you and your commie state. The constitution is the constitution, period motherfucker.
"They are just not an infringement that is so drastic that I care about it." - The Jews before they were killed in Germany
"They are just not an infringement that is so drastic that I care about it." - The Kurds before Saddam committed genocide on their asses
"They are just not an infringement that is so drastic that I care about it." - Some dead black people in Darfur
Aren't we all reminded by some guy who died 200 years ago that when, "When we say, 'They are just not an infringement that is so drastic that I care about it. . . I'm okay with that much infringement,' we are doing something really bad that will lead down a dangerous path(dangerous game) with a lot of fucking slippery slopes and awful ramifications?" - Old guy

It would just seem like a lot of senseless people get murdered for no reasons, most of all it seems like school type shootings. Wouldn't America be safer with more tougher gun laws? NO! Because they'd just use CARS, KNIVES, POISON, POVERTY, RED HERRINGS, STRAWMANS, and NUNCHAKUS instead!!! or a zippo and a super soaker filled with gasoline at a black friday gathering in front of Wal-Mart
All shall love me and despair

I already agreed with you on this point. It is a slippery slope. I said those words nearly verbatim in my last post. I simply find it difficult to motivate myself to try and fight against laws I find to make logical sense. Comrade? Manifesto? lol. Calm down home slice. I'm much more closely aligned with your views than most on here. If you wanna target someone, you should probably scroll back through the thread and look at some of the comments by the liberals in here. In fact, I wish you would. If you get this pissed at me for what I just said, I'd absolutely LOVE to see what you'd have to say to some of these other guys.

Fuck that. I think you're worse than they are. You know why? Because you're trying to come off like some kind of fucking moderate that it's making your arguments logically inconsistent!

Restricting documented mentally ill people from having guns certainly won't stop all of them from getting guns, but it may stop some and save lives. It's a very slippery slope though. I mean, you'd have to be G-Fist crazy before I would want your gun rights taken away P.S. I can't believe I was part of kicking the hornets nest and getting this thread going again. Damnit.
