Even IF you restrict the mentally ill/individuals with a history of violence from purchasing guns, won't they just go through the burgeoning black market to buy guns? Drugs are illegal, but I can go buy a gram of heroin right now if I wanted.
Your ideas sound like a big-government bureaucratic nightmares if you ask me.
Not my ideas. This is legislation that already has passed in CA (mental illness gun laws) or that is currently in the works (the gun violence restraining order thing hasn't passed yet). I didn't come up with these ideas. I'm saying these are laws that place restrictions on gun ownership that I am okay with. I only mentioned it because Blazzen brought it up and contrary to what Rok and others may think about me, I don't think there should be zero restrictions on gun ownership.
