Rorge who bites the hound before Arya kills him in the series, is pretending to be the hound in the books by wearing his helm, Brienne kills Rorge in the books. The hound is wounded at the fight in the inn and after his wounds fester, Arya leaves him for dead. They just switched it around for some reason.

I was waiting for Tyrion to say, "Looks like he doesn't shit gold afterall". He says or thinks something like that in the book. I was sad it didn't make it in to the series.

Did Varis leave with Tyrion on the ship in the books? I don't remember.....If so, he's forever fucked in King's Landing. Leaving makes him look guilty, like when Sansa fled after Joffrey's death.

Don't read if you haven't read the books.

Click to reveal..
I looked up The Hound on the wiki. Though the reader never reads his death scene, the priest that found him tells Brienne that he is dead. He knows because he buried the hound himself and left his dog helm as a marker. Of course, the priest could be lying, trying to protect The Hound.

We are told by the priest that someone must have stolen the helm from his grave and continued on a rape/murder spree down the coast. I tend to believe he's lying because The Hound, like his brother, is a huge man. Not many other men in the seven kingdoms could be mistaken for The Hound simply because he's so tall. Of course, there's also the possibility that like Cat and potentially his brother, he's now the walking dead.

I'm kinda pissed the series departed so far from the book on this one. But I guess it doesn't matter. The outcome is the same. He's left for dead but we don't know if he actually died.

Varys wasn't aboard the boat in the books, but since his actual location was unknown until, um.. that thing happened, it makes sense to have him tag along with Tyrion in season 5.

If season 5 follows the books, then I fear for this show and the backlash that will ensue. No one in the history of man has ever uttered the words "I think I'll read Feast for Crows again".

i would have to re-read it again but i believe in the book he just disappears. maybe GRRM decided to elaborate a little more on how he did so in the show by showing him jump in the boat.

but in the book...

Varys makes a curiously weak and obligatory protest against this course of action, advising him to make haste and flee...while also giving precise directions on how to reach Tywin. Tyrion then ascends the ladder to kill his father Tywin. With this outcome and his subsequent arrangement for Tyrion to fit in to his master plan, it is very likely it was more than the threat of violence from a crippled Jaime that caused Varys to release the dwarf. As a loyalist, and knowing Tywin's threat to a Targaryen restoration, plus the fact he attempted to prevent rectification of Cersei's grievous errors, it is most likely he purposefully arranged Tywin's murder, but which strings he pulled and how are currently left unclear as Varys is a master of obfuscation.

Also, When Jaime rescues Tyrion from prison he confesses that Tysha was not a whore but really was in love with Tyrion. This is what makes him decide to go back and see his father for some good crossbow revenge.

Another part that they left out and I cannot figure out why is when Jamie asks Tyrion if he really did murder Joffrey and Tyrion lies and tells him he did just to be spiteful.

Who knows, maybe us book readers just have stone hearts towards certain aspects of the show. GET IT!!
