IMO the most fucked up thing about that video is the guy filming doesn't even move, and the other guy just starts walking towards the police like it's nothing. I agree with Obs though...he was advancing too fast on them, and they are taught to shoot until the action stops...which they did.
Not sure if you guys saw this. Cop says to unarmed protestors, "I will fucking kill you!" while pointing a rifle at them.
And the people in charge dismiss it as fatigue. Yea well guess what, if I come into my job on a bad day and even said those words to someone (without the gun), I'd be terminated.
If a citizen did this, they would be under arrest. This is what I am talking about when I say the attitude needs to change in law enforcement. I think this dude should be fired, no questions asked.

It's hard to debate this cop excessive force shit because we're usually dealing with borderline illiterate eyewitnesses telling obvious lies and local bureaucracies trying to bury shit regardless of the merits so it doesn't come up in the next election cycle.
There's two conflicting ideas here, police worship by people who think they're heroes because they do a dangerous job, and people with a reflexive suspicion of all things government. The first one stems from inexperience with cops, a personal connection with them, or left-leaning government=oversight mentality. The second stems from multiple impersonal interactions with police or a hard line take on libertarian philosophy.
The way I look at this shit is 9/10 times it's two idiots who deserve each other engaging in some mutual annihilation. The remaining 10 percent is either people committing suicide via violent crime, or cops just flipping shit and abusing their power. I think these are the minority of cases, and more often than not it's some thug cop shooting some thug or vice versa because the street wasn't big enough for two thugs. It's "1v1 100k bro" in the real world.
