Yeah, there could be an equally long TLDR rant about Tim and Eric..or Galifianakis..Will Ferrell..etc. etc. Shit's funny to me. It's not to say it's the 'only' thing I find funny. I think stand up comics fit the bill perfectly for whoever wrote that, the Daily Show, Colbert, Ali G, Vice, RT, Last Week Tonight; there's tons of content out there that caters to the adverse news-worthy journalism/reporting/interviews.
NBC is home of 6 different "Real Housewives" shows, 3 "The Bachelor" shows, "American Idol/Next Top Model", Big Brother, among a big list of
pretty lame shows. The only show I can think of that's half decent is Parks & Recreation, Law & Order is ok, and I haven't seen but heard Blacklist is ok (even though it looks pretty cheesie, we'll just give them 3 shows). The only show I would put Jim Fallon under from any of their programming is Parks & Rec. So what's dumber, liking probably the 2nd best show on NBC, or expecting NBC to suddenly be edgey.
