Pretty much what Murd said. I was going to write a scathing reply to you Harry, but Murd pretty much shit all over you with far less words than I probably would have.
I have rifles too Harry. And a shotgun. I don't think I need you to explain to me what types of guns are used for what range, considering I've been shooting guns since I was about 10 years old. Thanks though.
However, carrying a rifle around on your back is not practical. In the event I ever do get into a situation where one of "the crazies" opens fire in a public place, I and anyone else around me would be happy I have my concealed handgun on me.

Gun control and restrictions are ignored by the 1% of loonies and the legal gun owners are generally the most careful trained and least likely to ever shoot anyone but themselves.
And also this. Especially the part about the nut jobs getting the guns despite gun laws.
